Hey everybody. So I'm still trying this "homemade" blog thing out. It's turning out to be quite a bit of work for posting blurb's and what-not. But still, if that's what it takes to keep y'all up on what I find interesting, then sobeit!
So today's post features someone who I consider to be one of today's dopest and freshest artists. His name is Kehinde Wiley, and he has a pretty amazing style. It stems from him noticing an obvious lack of Black individuals (or how he phrases it, "People who looked like me") in classic art aesthetics. His paintings are a mixture of styles that reflect and protray a contemporary vernacular and classic "land & gentry" style art.
He can explain it much better than I can, so check out this piece on him over at Current.com. And to peep some more of his fresh art, head on over to KehindeWiley.com.
Peace.

So what's up party people? This is MY BLOG! Pretty JAMTASTIC, huh? I made it myself...if you can't tell. I figured, why waste time that I don't have tryin' to customize a Wordpress or Blogger spot, when I can create a perfectly functional homemade blog?!
So in the middle of wondering what to write about in my first blog, I digressed (as usual) and went to check out my favorite clothing line, Johnny Cupcakes. If you haven't heard about Johnny Cupcakes yet, first of all, where have you been?!? And secondly...what tha?!? Anyway, Johnny not only has one of the freshest lines to date, but also has an amazing story behind the line. Not to mention, he seems to be a pretty dope & upstanding guy. And he's doing really well for himself, as the entrepreneur of a multi-million dollar company!
So if you get a chance, swing by his site, johnnycupcakes.com, buy a shirt, and then swing over to Vimeo, and get down on his videos!
Alright y'all, that's it for now! Check back regularly for new stuff!
Peace.
